The way we react to life experiences and our feelings can change and at times it feels like stress and emotions are getting the best of us.
If you feel overwhelmed
by stress or anxiety
experience digestive upset
a change in your sleeping patterns
headaches or migraines
palpitations or rumination
and feel you need a stabilising anchor, then I would like to work with you.
Our bodies and minds need nourishment and healing to create our own safe place, a haven from where we can renew our strength, compassion, and alertness. When we are emotionally healthy, we can control our thoughts, feelings, and behaviour, we feel good about ourselves and easily bounce back from setbacks. We can cope with the challenges in our lives, we are resilient and feel content, our body and mind are in balance. Emotional health is a skill and it flourishes when you are curious about your thoughts and feelings.
By assisting your innate healing capacities, acupuncture can help you create this refuelling station, from which you can get back to everyday life and its challenges with fresh energy and new perspectives.
Hello and welcome to Erika Fodor Acupuncture
Licensed Acupuncturist (BSc Hons)
Member of The Britsh Acupuncture Council
Graduate member of the British Psychological Society
I am an acupuncturist and psychologist with a special interest in mental-emotional wellbeing.
I believe that our mental and emotional wellbeing is paramount and plays a fundamental part in our overall health; we cannot have one without the other. Mind and body are one; they are intricately linked together. Our thoughts, feelings and attitudes affect how our body functions and the health of our body impacts our mental state.
I especially love helping people to restore their emotional health, so they feel enabled and empowered to make the necessary changes in their lives.
Emotional health is a skill, and I can work with you to improve it.
I am passionate about looking after the mental and emotional health of those couples who undergo fertility treatments. This is an aspect that is very often overlooked but has a tremendous impact on various aspects of the couple's life and often on the treatment and its outcome. As an acupuncturist, I focus on the psycho-emotional wellbeing of the couples with whom I walk on their fertility journey.

you touch everything."

Five Element Acupuncture
Acupuncture is an ancient Chinese healing system dating back thousands of years. It is based on the theory that energy -Qi flows through a network of connected meridians, which if in balance provide health and well-being. If the flow of Qi is blocked or in imbalance, symptoms will arise, and illness will occur. In treatment, we look the re-balance the system by finding the root cause of the illness and help the body to heal itself physically, mentally and spiritually.
There is growing scientific evidence, based on clinical research, showing how the body reacts to acupuncture in a wide range of conditions and validate the effectiveness of this complex healing system.
This style of acupuncture focuses on the emotional and spiritual distress that may cause physical problems too.
It is thought that each individual resonates most strongly with one of the five archetypal elements: Fire, Earth, Metal, Water or Wood. The aim is to isolate the weakest element and support it back to health by restoring the balance and harmony among the five elements. As a result, the patients will feel better in themselves and live their life fully and consciously to their full potential. Seeking treatment for mental and emotional wellbeing, including stress and anxiety relief is one of the most common cases I see in the clinic.
What to expect on your first appointment
First appointments are now online, conducted from the convenience of your own home.
During the first consultation, we will discuss your medical history in complete confidence and the main complaint for which you are seeking treatment.
I would then normally carry out a range of diagnostic tests, which I am now going to do on our first face to face appointement. These include pulse taking, looking at your tongue: the colour, the tongue coating and the shape of the tongue itself. I often palpate specific acupuncture points, along with certain meridians. After gathering all the information, I create a unique treatment plan for you and will carry out the first treatment.
Moxa is made of the herb Artemisia Vulgaris. There are various forms of it like a cigar shaped moxa stick or cones. I use it on carefully selected acupuncture points for a warming and healing effect. This is a beautifully simple treatment for certain digestive problems, gynaecological conditions and breech presentation in late term pregnancy.
Cupping is widely used around the world in different traditions. Glass or silicone cups are placed on the skin by creating a vacuum which generates a lovely relaxing and relieving sensation.
It has a warming and invigorating effect: an exceptionally powerful technique in the treatment of musculoskeletal complaints, acute or chronic pain, including menstrual pain and endometriosis.
Gua sha is a very safe, effective and simple technique where a jade tool is used in sweeping motions on the skin. It is a stimulating and soothing treatment for conditions such as a common cold, headache, muscle tension and even in case of morning sickness.
To accelerate the start of your healing journey, I have created two packages that include a complimentary 90-minute online first consultation and seven subsequent,
face to face appointments.
To achieve the maximum benefits acupuncture can offer, I suggest two treatments on the first two weeks, then one treatment a week. Each case is unique, therefore, we will evaluate your progress throughout and decide together if further treatment could be beneficial for you.
Stress and anxiety support package
£700 for 7 consultations
We cannot go through life without experiencing stress.
Stress is not all bad, it can help us make changes and grow, but it can become overwhelming if there is no ‘want to’ in our lives, only ‘have to’.
The body often expresses the emotional pressure from stress as physical symptoms, such as sore or tight muscles, digestive issues, changes in sleep pattern, headaches,
or chronic pain.
It is quite easy to get used to stress and anxiety, but it is a scattered and unsettled way of being. If you would like to regain your quality of life, this package is for you. Acupuncture can harmonize our mental and physical state and by addressing those dynamic layers and restoring their healthy rhythm, it can help you restore your balance.
Emotional support package
£700 for 7 consultations
Do you feel stuck or noticed that you are dwelling on the negative things in your life and need help moving on?
Feeling emotions are perfectly normal, they are our reactions to the world. The way we process and label them are paramount in our emotional wellbeing and overall health. When emotions become overwhelming, excessive, or turned inward, they can cause health issues. Even though all of your emotions are valid, they cannot take over your life. I invite you to step back and look at them from a perspective. Acupuncture can help you create this space in a safe environment to be present and attuned to the here and now. With the help of the treatment, you can regain your emotional clarity, improve your moods, and can live a meaningful, intentional, and productive life
that is aligned with your values.
